Welcome to the IU Bassoon Day 2013!
Saturday, November 2, 2013
The first annual Indiana University Bassoon day was held on November 2, 2013. Hosted by Professor William Ludwig and Associate Professor Kathleen McLean, the day was a great success and sparked an annual tradition! In addition to middle school, high school, and college level masterclasses led by the IU bassoon faculty, guest artist Bram van Sambeek provided multiple masterclasses, and gave a full recital!
Additionally, vendors of bassoons, bocals, reeds, music, and more had tables for browsing by all participants. Bassoon repair specialist Paul Nordby was also on the scene to provide minor instrument repairs, and gave a masterclass on care and maintenance.
